Who is hungry for hockey?

These hockey-less cities are hungry for an NHL team. With organizations such as the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes continuing to flounder in ticket sales and over all viewer interest, the successful move of the Atlanta Thrasher to Winnipeg could prove to be all the inspiration one of these struggling clubs needs to relocate to a new city. Some potential cities in the market for a new NHL team include Seattle, Las Vegas, Houston, Kansas City, Hamilton and Quebec City. Where do you think a new NHL team would find the most success? Why?

  1. I think the it would be great to have a new Canadian team in the NHL. I mean come on its where the sport originated and 90% of the players come from. Im down for the Quebec City Nordiques to make a come back!!!

  2. Phoenix should be moved to Quebec ASAP! Hamilton is a great idea and the Mecca of hockey Toronto could easily support a 2nd team. I don't thing Vegas will ever get a pro team. Everyone there is a transplant.

  3. I agree, Phoenix needs to find a new location and quick! Their rink is so nice, though. I was thinking that Kansas City could possibly be a good fit for a new hockey team since they have such a large and dedicated football fan base, but I am with you guys on a new Canadian team. Seattle could also be very cool, they could add some depth to the Western Conference.

  4. Nashville and Carolina don't do too bad. I see this was published before teh realignment plan came out, but now with that knowledge I can say they will likely be expanding the league to 32 teams. I think Seattle and Kansas City will be rewarded the new franchises but Phoenix will still be moved to Quebec City or the GTA.

  5. What will their names be? The Seattle Sadists and the Kansas City Night Walkers?
